Lintel Next — Type Family
Lintel Next is the next-generation evolution of the original Lintel typeface, first released in 2012. Inspired by the architectural principles of Alvar Aalto, this geometric sans-serif balances structure with a natural, flowing aesthetic. Its distinctive pill-shaped curves and carefully proportioned letterforms create a precise and approachable typeface. Expanded for greater versatility, Lintel Next now includes five new widths—Compressed, Extra Condensed, Condensed, Expanded, and Extended—allowing seamless adaptability across different design applications. Every character has been redrawn for improved consistency and enhanced readability, ensuring a refined typographic experience. This latest update was led by Tasos Varipatis, whose hand-drawn approach softens the geometric rigidity found in similar sans-serifs, giving Lintel Next a unique warmth. His refinements also introduce Greek and Vietnamese language support, making the typeface more globally accessible.
